Bǒ Gua is a hexagram in the Book of Changes (I Ching), consisting of the upper Gèn trigram and lower Kūn trigram, and ranked second in order. Gèn represents mountains, and Kūn represents the earth. The hexagram symbolizes a collapsing mountain and a cracking earth, indicating danger and decline. From this, we can see that Bǒ Gua's essence lies in the movement of yin and yang, the disappearance and transformation of things, and therefore carries meanings of change and danger.
