升卦是《周易》六十四卦中的第四十六卦，由巽卦和坤卦所組成。巽代表風，坤代表地，風在地上吹動，象徵著生命力的旺盛，這也是升卦所象徵的意義。升卦代表著進展和成功的前景，顯示出事物能夠向更高的層次發展。

第四十六卦：《升卦》
升：元亨，用見大人，勿卹，南徵吉。
【白話】《升卦》象徵上升：亨通，宜於出現權高位尊的大人物，用不著憂慮，向南方出征會帶來吉祥。
《象》曰：地中生木，升；君子以順德，積小以高大。
【白話】《象辭》說：《升卦》的卦像是巽（風）下坤（地）上，而巽又像徵高大樹木，這樣就成為地裡邊生長樹木之表象。 樹木由矮小到高大，象徵上升；與此相應，君子透過順應自然規律來培養自己的品德，累積微小的進步來塑造高大完美的人格。
初六，允升，大吉。
【白話】初六，宜於上升，大吉大利。
《象》曰：「允升大吉「上合志也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“宜於上升而大吉大利”，是因為陰柔處在最卑下的地位，位於其上的陽剛者同情其處境，希望其盡快上升，所以其上正合乎上面的 意思。
九二，孚乃利用禴，無咎。
【白話】九二，內心恭敬虔誠，即使微薄的禴祭也可以感動神靈，免遭災禍。
《象》曰：九二之孚，有喜也。
【白話】《象辭》說：《升卦》的第二爻位（九二）內心虔誠仁厚，一心成人之美，深得眾人信服，必定會給自身帶來喜慶。
九三，升虛邑。
【白話】九三，上升到空曠的城邑，如入無人之境。
《象》曰：“升虛邑”，無疑也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“上升到空曠的城邑”，這是因為沒有任何阻礙，上升得十分順利，不要有半點遲疑。
六四，王用亨於岐山，吉，無咎。
【白話】六四，君王到岐山祭祀神靈，吉祥如意，沒有災禍。
《象》曰：“王用亨於岐山”，順事也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“君王到岐山祭祀神靈”，就是向神靈表示恭順，誠惶誠恐地供奉神靈，結果必然會帶來吉祥如意。
六五，貞吉，升階。
【白話】六五，占卜結果吉祥如意，乘勢沿著階梯穩定上升。
《象》曰：“貞吉升階”，大得志也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“占卜結果吉祥如意，乘勢沿著台階穩步上長”，表明上升已達到鼎盛時期，接近光輝的頂點。 真可說得上是春風得意，躊躇滿志。 同時也顯示陰柔居於尊位，必須穩健行事，循序漸進，不可像「升虛邑」那樣冒進。
上六，冥升，利於不息之貞。
【白話】上六，在昏暗幽冥狀態下依然上升，只有堅持不懈地保持純正品性，才能獲得好的結果。
《象》曰：冥昇在上，消不富也。
【白話】《象辭》說：昏暗幽冥狀態下仍然上升，本身又已處在《升卦》的最高位置，按照盛極而衰的道理，上升的勢頭必然會逐漸消退，再不會如原來那樣 富有進取精神了
