第四十九卦：《革卦》
革：己日乃孚，元亨，利貞，悔亡。
【白話】《革卦》象徵改變：在己日改變舊的事物，能夠使民眾深深的信服，前途通暢，堅守正道，最後就會取得成功，悔恨終將會消釋。
《象》曰：「澤中有火，革；君子以治歷明時。
【白話】《象辭》說：《革卦》的卦像是離（火）下兌（澤）上，為澤中有火之表象。 大水可以使火熄滅；大火也可以使水蒸發，如此，水火相剋相生，從而產生改變。 君子根據變革的規律制定曆法以明辨春、夏、秋、冬四季的變化。
初九，鞏用黃牛之革。
【白話】初九，應該用黃牛的皮革牢牢地綁住。
《象》曰：“鞏用黃牛”，不可以有為也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“用黃牛的皮革牢牢地捆綁住”，因為初九在卦的最下位，位卑微而不可能有所作為。
六二，己日乃革之，徵吉，無咎。
【白話】六二，在己日進行變革，前途必獲吉祥，不會有災禍。
《象》曰：「己日革之”，行有佳也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“在己日進行變革”，必然會有好的功效。
九三，徵兇，貞厲；革言三就，有孚。
【白話】九三，急進會發生兇險，要以正防危；對於變革的言論，要多次研究周密考慮，贏得人們的信賴，就可以進行變革了。
《象》曰：「革言三就」，又何之矣！
【白話】《象辭》說：“對於變革的言論，要多次研究周密考慮”，其他的路是沒有的，變革已經勢在必行，只有走變革的道路。
九四，悔亡，有孚改命，吉。
【白話】九四，悔恨已經消釋，仍舊需要人們的信賴以革除舊的事物，這樣做是吉祥的。
《象》曰：「改命之吉，信誌也。
【白話】《象辭》說：革除舊的事物，這樣做是吉祥的，因為這符合改變的志向。
九五，大人虎變，未佔有孚。
【白話】九五，偉大的人物像猛虎一般進行變革，不必置疑一定能光大誠信的美德。
《象》曰：“大人虎變”，其文炳也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“偉大的人物像猛虎一般進行變革”，表明變革必然成功，其美德光照天下。
上六，君子豹變，小人革面；徵兇，居貞吉。
【白話】上六，君子像有斑紋的豹子那樣進行變革，連小人也順應變革改變舊日傾向；急進會有兇險，居而守正可以得到吉祥。
《象》曰：“君子豹變”，其文蔚也；“小人革面”，順以從君也。
【白話】《象辭》說：“君子像有斑紋的豹子那樣進行變革”，說明君子協助有道德的大人物一起變革，必然使變革的成就更加光輝燦爛；“連小人也順應變革改變舊日 傾向”，說明大勢所趨，小人也不得不順從君子的變革。
