䷜
The Kan hexagram, the third hexagram in the Book of Changes(Iching), is composed of one solid yang line on top and two solid yin lines on the bottom, representing water, danger, obstacles, and feminine energy.
The hexagram is made up of three lines, with a solid yang line at the top and two solid yin lines at the bottom, representing the flow of water and symbolizing danger, obstacles, and challenges. Kan is the basic image of water, a force characterized by surging waves and dangerous challenges.
In the Book of Changes, Kan is associated with the concept of xi kan, meaning "learning through hardship," representing the idea that "learning is like traversing difficult and dangerous terrain, but if one persists, one will not be defeated, and if one advances, one will not retreat." Kan represents the power of courage, adventure, and danger, representing the power of water, blackness, the north, and death. It also represents the spirit of adversity, testing, and resilience, embodying a spirit of fearlessness and the ability to overcome challenges. In summary, Kan represents the power of courage, adventure, danger, and resilience, symbolizing the power of water and the challenges it presents, and being the most dangerous and challenging of all the hexagrams.
Kan is one of the eight trigrams and represents water. In the Kan hexagram, three yin lines are stacked on top of three yang lines, symbolizing water flowing from high to low, indicating a downward trend. Therefore, Kan also represents danger, difficulty, challenge, and other meanings.
If the Kan hexagram appears with an ominous sign, it often means that there are major difficulties and challenges that need to be overcome with more effort and wisdom. In business, setbacks, problems with partners, or intense competition may be encountered; in relationships, conflicts, differences, or emotional distance may arise; in health, more attention may need to be paid to physical health and safety.
However, an ominous sign does not necessarily mean bad things. Adversity and difficulties can also be an opportunity for growth and progress. By overcoming challenges and striving, more gains and achievements can be obtained. Therefore, when facing the ominous sign of the Kan hexagram, one needs to analyze calmly, think carefully about strategies, and take practical action to solve the problem.
